Tutorial - White Tiger
Kits and Patterns
Fabrics and Threads
I have made a lot of tiger quilts.. they are fast, satisfying, and easy.. This one seems particularly Modern
I made it with four fat quarters of Oakshott Fabrics new Colourshott colours, plus about 2 metres of white also from Oakshott
Here's a tutorial for the blocks
(Go and have a look - had a dekko? Good)
Now make 32 (16 pairs) blocks with one of the pieces each time in white, and the other in a colour (don't feel you have to do my sample colours.. I think this would look lovely in rainbows, but then, I would...)
Note that half the blocks come out with white edges (which blend into the adjoining blocks), and half with coloured edges - I arranged them separately in two halves as shown, but that's up to you..
I made 32 plain white 6-1/2 inch squares and alternated them with the Tiger blocks, sewed into rows and columns..
Layer and quilt as you will, and here's the back (thanks IKEA..)
Finished size is about 48 inches square - for a bigger quilt, make more blocks..
